CEGH Gas Storage Marketing Platform
SERVICES FOR THE CEGH GAS STORAGE MARKETING PLATFORM:
CEGH offers the CEGH Gas Storage Marketing Platform to support security of supply in Austria and to provide companies with a platform for publishing storage offers and requests.
Due to a legal amendment, industrial customers can secure their gas supply by utilizing gas storage for up to 50% of their annual domestic consumption.
Industrial customers, suppliers, and other companies can publish requests for storage capacities via the CEGH Gas Storage Marketing Platform. These requests are forwarded to all registered members. Members who can provide appropriate offers respond to the request directly on the platform. However, the contract is concluded bilaterally and outside the platform between the involved parties.
The CEGH offering is an important tool for security of supply in emergencies situations or supply disruptions for all gas market participants and serves as a useful addition to the standard functionalities of marketing primary and secondary gas storage capacities.
The CEGH Gas Storage Marketing Platform provides additional support, particularly for industrial customers, to benefit from the legal amendment – even without in-depth knowledge of the gas market or their own registration in the gas wholesale market. In addition to storage capacity, the following requests can also be made:
- Requests for gas in storage (not just storage capacity)
- Service for easy usage of storage capacity (“balancing group service”)
REGISTRATION & USAGE:
Companies wishing to publish offers or requests must indicate this during registration to activate the function. Companies already registered that also wish to publish offers or requests should contact CEGH directly to have this function activated.
With this service, CEGH aims to support the market and industry during challenging times. Requests for storage capacity and gas in storage can be published free of charge until further notice. Please note that this fee exemption does not apply to the publication of offers for storage capacity or gas in storage on the platform.
WHAT IS THE CEGH GAS STORAGE MARKETING PLATFORM?
CEGH provides gas storage operators and customers with storage capacity a platform to publish their capacities (primary and secondary). Gas storage operators and their customers can publish their available capacities, and customers interested in storage can post their offers via the CEGH Gas Storage Marketing Platform.
The allocation of capacity is carried out by the gas storage operators or the company that created the offer. The contract is concluded bilaterally between the contracting parties outside the platform.
Storage operators and customers with storage capacity:
- Can publish available capacities with a detailed description (including document upload) of the offered storage product, as well as the date and time for posting offers, with the option to allow offers different to the published specifications.
- Collect bids from registered customers participating in the members’ area of the CEGH Gas Storage Marketing Platform.
- Then conclude the contract bilaterally outside the platform.
Customers/Platform Users:
- Can sign up for a publication alert: They will receive an email when a new offer or request is posted by a storage operator or a company on the platform.
- Must register to submit offers on the platform.
- Can use these services free of charge.
